Scoring Services
The NBME’s Scoring Services unit provides comprehensive support for the psychometric and technical needs of health profession organizations, including:
- Collaborating on the creation of sound and sustainable test designs
- Collecting, processing and managing biographic and candidate response data
- Performing item analyses to support activities including item review and evaluation, and scoring key validation
- Performing data analysis including item response theory (IRT)-based calibrating, equating, and scaling and scoring
- Producing individual and group score reports
- Creating specialized comparative data reports such as norm tables and scoring guidelines
- Designing and facilitating standard setting exercises
- Designing and completing research studies (e.g., security, agreement, timing, validity, methodological)
- Presenting seminars on evaluation issues
