The application process for Step 1 and/or Step 2 CK requires you to select a three-month period, such as January-February-March or February-March-April, during which you plan to take the exam.

Applicants for Step 2 CS are assigned a 12-month eligibility period that begins on the date that their registration information is entered into the Step 2 CS scheduling system. The links below will take you to the following sections of the USMLE website:

  • USMLE Bulletin of Information
The Bulletin includes information on all aspects of USMLE, such as eligibility requirements, scheduling test dates, testing, and score reporting. You must review and become familiar with the Bulletin before completing your application for Step 1 or Step 2.
  • Biometric Identity Management System Privacy Notice for USMLE Candidates
This Privacy Notice describes the privacy and security practices that have been established for the BIMS program implemented by Prometric as part of standard test day procedures for computer-based Step examinations.
  • Step 1 and Step 2 CK Content Description and Sample Test Materials
