Scores and Transcripts
For Steps 1, 2 CK, and 3, a score report includes a pass/fail designation, numerical scores, and graphical performance profiles summarizing areas of strength and weakness to aid in self-assessment. These profiles are developed solely for the benefit of examinees, and will not be reported or verified to any third party.
Performance on Step 2 CS is reported as pass or fail. Score reports include performance profiles, which reflect the relative strengths and weaknesses of an examinees’ performance across the subcomponents of Step 2 CS.
Once the exam results are released, the score report will remain available online for approximately 120 days from the date email notification is sent. Score reports can be viewed, downloaded and printed by logging into the the Licensing Examination Services (NLES) section of the NBME website. After the link to the score report is removed from the NLES website, scores will be provided only in the form of an official USMLE transcript.
The official USMLE transcript includes personal identification information and a complete history of all Steps and Step Components. For the complete list of information included on the USMLE transcript, please click here: http://www.usmle.org/bulletin/scores/#transcripts. The NBME transcript, called the NBME Record of Scores, includes identification information and passing history of NBME Part examination scores. NBME Part failing history is reported when specifically requested or required by a licensing authority.
