In order to pursue our mission of protecting the health of the public, the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) seeks to enrich its connections with healthcare consumers. From patients and families, to caretakers and advocates, the voice of those outside of the house of medicine is important. The NBME is committed to cultivating and using these relationships to ensure the highest quality of healthcare through the evaluation of healthcare professionals and other mission-relevant activities. In recent years, the NBME has increased its efforts to incorporate the public voice into its products and policies by increasing the role of public members in its governance and test development committees and strengthening ties with national organizations that represent patients.
To protect the health of the public through state of the art assessment of health professionals.
