Tazin Afrin, PhD
NLP Scientist
Tazin Afrin is an AI researcher and applied machine learning specialist. Before joining NBME as an NLP scientist, Tazin worked as an AI engineer at Educational Testing Service (ETS), where she gained extensive experience in developing and optimizing NLP models for educational assessment and automated scoring systems. Tazin holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Her doctoral research focused on developing a writing assistant tool for students and a framework for student revision in argumentative writing. Tazin has authored peer-reviewed journal and conference papers on artificial intelligence, educational applications, human-computer interaction, and social computing and behavioral modeling.
