Principal Measurement Scientist
Polina Harik serves as Director of Research within the Growth and Innovation division at NBME. She brings extensive leadership experience in guiding interdisciplinary teams of measurement scientists and AI/NLP researchers, working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and psychometrics. Her work focuses on the integration of advanced technological solutions with psychometric principles to enhance the evaluation of skills and behaviors critical to medical practice.
Polina’s academic contributions span the research and development of automated scoring systems for complex performance tasks, the application of statistical methods to performance-based assessments, and the use of natural language processing for clinical text evaluation. Polina holds a master’s degree in physics and a doctorate in educational measurement.
