NBME Continues to Support Reproductive Health and Employee Access to Care

July 5, 2022

NBME believes in access to health care for all patients. Consistent with our mission and core values, NBME promotes policies that improve and protect women’s health. We support the reproductive rights of patients and stand against actions that may hinder or harm patients. We strive to embody these values in our organization, our products and services, and in the communities we serve.

The legislative environment and the recent Supreme Court decision (Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization) are affecting where some health care needs can be met and prompted us to look at what actions we should take.

We do not anticipate any changes to our current test content – in either USMLE or our other educational assessments. Physicians must have comprehensive knowledge of the full spectrum of reproductive health care.

We are committed to provide all employees access to a wide range of health care options. Through the benefits we offer, our employees are able to make the decisions about health care best for them and their families and we are looking at ways to expand access to staff impacted by the recent decision.
