Andrew F. Farella to Join NBME as Sr. Vice President of Information Technology

Following a nationwide search, the National Board of Medical Examiners® (NBME®) is pleased to announce Andrew F. Farella will become Sr. Vice Present of Information Technology in November 2018.

“Andy’s experience and perspective were just what we were looking for, an ideal balance that will enable him to fit in well at the NBME while also bringing new ideas and a fresh point of view to our organization,” said Peter J. Katsufrakis, MD, President and CEO of NBME.

Mr. Farella is currently Associate CIO, AVP Business Applications of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he spent the last nine years leading teams focused on implementation and support of the patient access, CHOP’s web presence (SharePoint, intranet, internet site), custom application/mobile development, financial systems, and enterprise business applications. His experience also includes almost a decade serving as Director, IT Applications North America for Elan Pharmaceuticals.

His scope of strategic leadership will include Application Services, Infrastructure Services, IT Project Management, IT Security, Disaster Recovery and Compliance, IT Continuous Improvement and Contract Management.
