CDC grant awarded to NBME Collaborator

February 4, 2019

The International Consortium for Health & Wellness Coaching (ICHWC), a nonprofit controlled affiliate of the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME), recently received a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for a coaching program designed to help prevent diabetes. The organization will partner with the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) to develop the following:

  • group coaching competencies
  • a training program
  • a certificate examination

This work will support dissemination of the National Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle change program. NBME staff views the collaboration on these high-quality certification examinations as having great impact on the organization’s mission. Learn more here.
