NBME Selects Inaugural Director of DEI

December 2, 2021

To strengthen efforts of incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion in everything NBME does, Daphne McRae has joined NBME as its inaugural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director. She will report to Linda Gadsby, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer. In her new position, Daphne will play a key role in developing the strategic plan around advancing DEI at NBME and the communities we serve.

“Daphne is passionate about DEI work, and I’m really excited to see the impact her unique combination of skills and experience will have on NBME’s execution of its DEI vision and strategy,” Gadsby said. “She will be a collaborative business partner, thoughtful and visionary advisor and dedicated resource for staff.”

Alongside an extensive career as a senior leader in Information Technology, most recently as the Vice President of IT Portfolio Management at JPMorgan Chase, Daphne brings with her a wealth of expertise and experience to advance underrepresented and diverse populations. As the Global DEI Leader for the Black Technology Community across nine technology centers and the Workforce Equality Committee Lead, she amplified her impact during the social unrest after George Floyd’s death by designing and instituting a series of organization-wide initiatives to create racial equity awareness, build community, and promote candid conversations.

Daphne is a 2021 graduate of JPMC Global Technology VP Academy which targets top talent and high impact leaders. She is also the recipient of the 2020 Technology All-Star Women of Color in STEM award for her dedication, passion and commitment to community.

She earned a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Hampton University. Additionally, Daphne holds multiple industry certifications in Six Sigma, Project Management and Agile and is currently pursuing her Certified Diversity Executive (CDE) certification through The Society for Diversity.

“I am delighted to join NBME as its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director, at such a pivotal time in the world, as well as the organization’s history,” McRae said. “I look forward to driving sustainable change and positive impact throughout our organization, the medical and assessment communities and the local community in which we reside.”
