New User Interface for Medical School Services’ Examinations

Posted July 6, 2020

To modernize the look and feel of NBME® Medical School Services’ (MSS) examinations, the user interface (UI) of Basic Science Subject examinations will be updated on Sunday, July 19, 2020.

At first, proctors and examinees can expect to see an updated appearance only on Basic Science forms. Throughout 2020, users will also begin to see these visual changes on Clinical Science and Comprehensive Subject examination forms, Customized Assessment Services (CAS) forms, and International Foundations of Medicine® (IFOM®) exams. This gradual approach is to help NBME collect feedback from proctors and students and make any necessary modifications. By the end of 2020, all MSS exams will include the new UI version.

Proctors and students do not need to take any action to prepare for this update. We welcome your feedback at NBMEWebTest@nbme.org and are hopeful this updated UI will improve the overall exam experience for proctors and students alike.
