2024 EQUITY IN MEASUREMENT AND ASSESSMENT CONFERENCE

The second Equity in Measurement and Assessment Conference (EMAC) brought together leading experts in measurement, assessment, medical education, and diversity, equity, and inclusion to tackle a pivotal question within medical education assessment: How can we ensure that every individual, regardless of their background, has an equitable opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills? 

Co-sponsored by NBME, the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), this two-day conference focused on three central themes. These themes—progress since EMAC 2023, opportunities and threats, and the medical learners’ experience—were explored through presentations, panel discussions, and a series of breakout sessions.
